devfs is disabled because, for example :

scripts need some alteration (like grep for
/dev/ide/host0/target0/lun1/p1 instead of /dev/hdb1 in
/proc/partitions and the like)


if that is done, and if you use devfsd, then 99% of the packages 'll
be fine.  but you need to test the whole ditro for a complete audit.

without devfsd, the amount of work to do is quite large ...
