Alexander,
Perhaps you need to configure the location of the named.pid file in the
/etc/named.conf (it's a new configuration directive, mine is set:
pid-file "/var/run/named/named.pid"; ). The location of the files used
to be hardcoded in /var/run/named/named.pid, but has beecome
configurable lately.
