I have recently been working with rpm too, and another thing with
libraries is disabling the -rpath linker option. If the configure script
does not support --disable-rpath, what is the best way to make binaries
conform?

Also, all the licenses listed are open source. If I want to distribute one
another another license that may also be "free", why should I get this
error?

And, why warn for no documentation. I thought lib* packages were supposed
to have *.so.* only, yet I see many that are the exception.

In a multi-package rpm, some packages require the main package which
provies the documention.

Lastly, the library issue is that .so goes in libfoo0-devel, and .so.?
goes in libfoo0. Someone has already provided me this link, which helps a
little, but not a lot :)

What's worse is that people.mandrakesoft.com just ahs the default
homepage, so you don't know who is there or what they have to offer.
