Hi all,
I have uploaded newest control-center (1.5.4) and several related
SRPMs to ftp.linux-mandrake.com/incoming/ . Any feedback is appreciated.

But you must be warned : the 1.5.x control-center is not as stable as the
1.4.x series do, and you're adviced to back up your stuff before trying.
I'm not responsible for any consequence, including your computer
exploding. :)

ximian-setup-tools-0.7.0-0mdk.src.rpm
Here is a brief procedure to go on:
1) Remove control-center, control-center-devel, and all RPMs requiring
libcapplet.so.0 (not many such packages -- for my system, those related
packages are gnome-core, gtkhtml, sawfish and mandrake_desk).
2) Compile and install libcapplet.
3) The most boring part -- compile and install those packages requiring
libcapplet.so.0 which you have just removed. *HOWEVER* you have to change
all references of
BuildRequires: control-center-devel
to
BuildRequires: libcapplet-devel
before compiling those packages.
4) Build and install control-center-1.5.4 .
5) Build and install control-center-plus-1.5.4 .
6) Build and install ximian-setup-tools-0.7.0 .
7) Start X and fire up your newest control-center and have fun.
