No more problems sincerly I bought a Adaptec 2904 ad it works perfectly.
Anyway I suppose it wasn't just a "name" problem... but I cannot test at the 
moment. If you wish me to test it to fix the problem, I still have it: I can 
put it in my PC and do what you say anyway! :-)
