Can somebody give me a hand with getting DVD's to behave ? As far as I know
this drive does not hard code region. It is a Matshita SR-8171. It plays
DVDs just fine under windows.
If I put in a DVD and issue a:
mount -t udf /dev/scd0 /mnt/cdrom
it mounts the drive, and I can see the directories OK, but any attempt to
read results in an I/O error. While DVD's aren't iso9660, mounting it as a
CD-ROM gives the same problem.
Cdrecord recognises it as a Removable CD-ROM.. I presume that it would see
any DVD drive that way?
What's frustrating is that pre 8.0 I had the darn DVD reading OK!
