So, what is the "offishal" Mandrake party line with regard to devfs and devfsd? Mount devfs and use devfsd or not? Is it expected that 8.1 users should use devfs and devfsd? If so, we should be testing it. If not, they well, people can play with it if they want. :-) This all came about because I found that my alsa devices (/dev/snd/*) were missing one or two cooker upgrades ago.
