[Cooker] DHCP clients still not working

fresh install from:
  /ChangeLog/1.542/Sun Aug 19 23:33:42 2001//

ifup (so normal network startup) on a dhcpcd client still does not
"detect a link" on the NIC (rtl8139)

running "dhcpcd -n" from console sets the IP
