Someone who didn't want to edit the /etc/passwd file by
hand, which is something that's not recommened, you
know..


The user* (useradd/usermod/userdel) suite of programs can
also do fun things like changing shells.  Someone already
pointed out useradd for creating new users, so I thought
I'd point out that usermod can modify existing users.


To answer your question.. From the man page, the actual
author of chsh is Salvatore Valente <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
He also wrote chfn, which changes the finger (GECOS?)
information in the passwd file.

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't call most people
at MIT sissies. =P
