Done new install today and noticed this selection. O.K. I understand what Russian/KOI8-R and Russian/CP1251 are. But what exactly does this? Does it mean that all text has to be in UTF-8? Pretty tough ... just how many porgrams can really cope with it? I can name mt favourite, zsh, that cannot do mulibyte at all (irrespectively what locale you set). -andrej
