My system used a primary partition for Windows, and started Linux on the
remaining space as I believe, an extended parition. So the presence of the
extended parition may have something to do with it. I don't know what you
mean by Linux is "part of" the Windows partition. When I said disk
configurations, I didn't mean how the disks where arranged on the cables,
but how the paritions were arranged on the disk,
