This isn't perfect, but getting better than it was. Was trying gcombust
to see if it could access the cdrom, since I couldn't, but audio and rmpdrake
could.
Noticed that had Proper cdrom and floppy folders in the file manager finally,
not just paper icons that don't work.
So tried to click on the folders, opened and didn't show anything. Won't
mount them.
Open up a terminal and tried to mount the cdrom. Got this: mount:
only root can mount /dev/scd0 on /mnt/cdrom. Grrrrr
Changed to su and tried again. It worked, then nautilus opened up a window
with the contents.
Same goes the floppy.
Checked permissions and I still have permission to use the cdrom and floppy
as User, but it won't let me!
When using Gnome with Sawfish (haven't tried others) the right-click and
selecting Disks from the menu is still showing nothing either.
Aside: Isn't this dynamic suppose to be placing icons on the desktop also
when a device is mounted?
Isn't doing that either.
Were getting closer, keep up the good work!
