OK... I back in front of the system again...
I've modprobe'd snd-card-ens1370, and...
[root@bones icq]# play Auth.wav
sox: Can't open output file '/dev/dsp': Permission denied
[root@bones icq]# ll /dev/dsp
ls: /dev/dsp: No such file or directory
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Checked lspci -v again:
00:0c.0 Multimedia audio controller: Ensoniq ES1370 [AudioPCI] (rev 01)
Subsystem: Unknown device 4942:4c4c
Flags: bus master, slow devsel, latency 64, IRQ 10
I/O ports at a000 [size=64]
dmesg shows no sound device and nothing else at this IRQ & I/O
So far, this is the only machine (all with SB PCI128 cards) that did not get
sound; it's also the only one I installed with security=high, and the only one
with the enterprise kernel in case that matters.
Thanks,
Pierre
