If it helps any, it has the same freezing black screen stuff just doing "X
-probeonly". Same spot in the error log. So it has something to do with
trying to access the video card for the r128..

And I can't compile a debug version to try and run gdb and figure out
where it is stopping. I filed a bugzilla report on that
(https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/cgi-bin/show_bug.cgi?id=5832) so hopefully we
can get this straightened out..

It's a G4 400 with the standard r128 card, so I'm afraid that this might
affect lots of people..
