I just purchaced an MSI K7T266-Pro2. I got Mdk 8.0 to install and work fine
but a fresh install of 8.1 resulted in a kernel panic right out of the box. I
don't remember the error. I did not write it down. However, I do remember it
had something to do with INIT. I am using a Voodoo3 with a EGA-NTSC Converter
to hook up to my TV so I can use it as a web-tv/game console/MP3/whatever
else I want but am stuck with 8.0 which does not detect the sound chip. I am
going to have to hand tweak the kernel and things to get stuff working. I am
using 256MB of DDR. That seems to work ok but I don't really notice any
mind-blowing speed. Probably due the slow 4GB HD in it untill I buy a newer
one. I would be glad to share knowledge with others on my findings.
