As does Netscape to me, but make it look different if it bothers you; you 
have plenty of configuration options.

To drop kdm and use another wm, (from 
http://www.mandrakeuser.org/mub/viewtopic.php?topic=3006&forum=8&3)

"Open the startkde script in pico or vi or whatever you use to edit text in 
the console. Nearly the last line you'll see 

ksmserver --restore 

Change that line to read 

ksmserver --restore --windowmanager blackbox 

Save and start kde. You can have it use any windowmanager you want...twm, 
icewm, enlightenment."
 

I'm using Enlightenment at the moment.
