Is it supermount in general or just LS-120? What happens when you
disable supermount only for LS-120?

I suspect that it just takes too much time on LS-120. You may be
interested in some patches that disable attempt to access media when
drive reports "no media" but still make it work with devfs. I currently
have thread on this matter that contains both ide-floppy patch and
devfs-related patches to partition code. I am not sure which one is
needed; I could forward you the whole thread and you contact folks for
more info.

If commenting out just LS-120 does not help - we must think something
different :-)
