Something wierd happened to me last night with this kernel. I ran "hdparm -a -W1 -c1 -d /dev/hda". And now (I just woke up) it seemed like the /dev/hda got inactivated and taken "offline". The only thing I could do was to hit the reset button. The bios autodetection failed to find /dev/hda, so I had to power off the machine and then power it up again. Is this a bug in the kernel or has someone else experienced this ? -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- | Oden Eriksson, Deserve-IT Networks, Jokkmokk, Sweden. | Mandrake Linux release 8.2 (Cooker) for i586 | Current uptime with kernel 2.4.16-11mdksmp: 31 minutes | cpu0 @ 799.53 bm, fan 4218 rpm, temp +29C | cpu1 @ 801.17 bm, fan 4470 rpm, temp +29.0C
