rpmdrake will also download and install dependencies, whereas kpackage (package manager) will just kick out with an error message. Also, kpackage creates a new window for every file it downloads which can interfere with any king of typing you might be doing at the time (since the default setting is to have it pop up with focus - which means that wherever you were typing, you are now typing inside of the kpackage window).
