When starting up KDE i get the following error.

device /dev/dsp can't be opened (Device or resource busy)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.

The only way to get this working is to restart the Arts sound server
manually.
'fuser -v /dev/dsp' doesn't show anything.

is installed.
my .xsession-errors shows....
There are already artsd objects registered, looking if they are active...
Error: Can't add object reference (probably artsd is already running).
If you are sure it is not already running, remove the relevant files:

/tmp/mcop-mat/Arts_SoundServer
/tmp/mcop-mat/Arts_SimpleSoundServer
/tmp/mcop-mat/Arts_PlayObjectFactory
/tmp/mcop-mat/Arts_AudioManager
kdeinit: PID 2118 terminated.
Any pointers would be appreciated.
