I had to add "set -x" to the file /etc/rc.d/init.d/keytable to get to the point where it actually stops. Last 2 lines were: + '[' -z '' ']' + initlog -q -n /etc/rc.d/init.d/keytable -s 'Loading compose keys: compose/latin1.inc' -e 1 Would like to help more, but there are no logs created with any of the startup script message texts. Could you tell me how to have this info directed to a file instead of the console? I can get console control back if I boot using "linux single", wait till it stalls, then CTRL-C. BTW, still stalling with tonights rsync - DrakX 1.646 > -andrej Regards Dave
