I agree, and you want to know why? It's because urpmi is so buggy. Lots 
of times installation fails, but you can go into the cache directory and 
install them manually without a hitch. Problem is, you need to catch it 
before MandrakeUpdate deletes them.

BTW, how do I get rid of the stupid wizard in MandrakeUpdate? Also, it 
should probably reload the lists automatically, or at least preselect 
the lists you want to load. I don't like having to manually update, and 
then in addition select that I want Cooker and Contrib lists every time.

There should definately be a "Preferences" option. This could also cover 
whether or not you wish to clean the cache. But I do think it should 
default to cleaning the cache if sucessful. Certainly not on an error. 
"Never" is probably too strong. Usually you don't want (or have the 
space" to keep the RPMS if they are successfully installed. On an error, 
though, of course you want to keep them around, so that you can install 
them again without having to redownload the whole lot of them.
