Oddly enough, I'm trialling a (Mandrake 8.1) Linux workstation at a local
business on a machine with a built-in network card (Intel EtherExpress Pro
100, not via-rhine, which arrive here labelled d-Link). Under Windows, the
network would crap out after a day or so's mucking around, so they disabled
the built-in LAN interface and installed a separate eepro100 card, which
worked more or less fine.

Mdk8.1 (with the built-in LAN still disabled!) finds and uses the internal
LAN and hasn't wavered yet. I removed the separate LAN card and they're
trying out Linux + StarOffice 5.2 + Mozilla + Konsole to replace
MS-Whingedows 98 + MS-Orifice 97 + MS-Exploder + MS-Lookout (here comes
another virus) + a proprietary terminal emulator on that box. So far, so good.

Cheers; Leon
