Ok, I tried 2.4.8-26mdk, but still the same thing. The symlinks are unaccessible. (Cannot even copy them to the hard drive, as I mentioned.) Just to be 100% sure I re-installed the whole LM 8.1 and with it there are no problems accessing the symlinks. What could it be, if not the kernel?
