Some more info on further tests on Cooker kernel 2.4.17-20mdk: I am running a kernel without APIC I disabled pcmcia start on boot I disabled dri within /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
Under these conditions I can get the suspend to ram to work properly on my Inspiron 8000 (ATI M4). You might want to check your changes to pcmcia between 2.4.17-16mdk and 2.4.17-17mdk(or 18mdk). Obviously there was some change that is creating the reboot issue on resume. As far as dri... if it is enabled and I return to X the monitor is all screwy and I lose control of the keyboard while I get a cpu race condition, forcing a cold boot. However if I drop to console mode (even with X running), suspend/resume then init 4/init 5... then it will run fine (or I could just init 4 before suspend/resume). Curiously it does not seem to matter if r128 and agpgart are loaded as long as I init4/init5 and suspend from console mode. sidenote: I am not on the gatos-devel mailing list so please cc any responses. ===== SI Reasoning [EMAIL PROTECTED] A requirement of creativity is that it contributes to change.
