I've asked our hardware team to buy/obtain a firewire adapter and extension some time ago, in order to have preliminary support/detection during install, but we still have nothing by hands, so adding support is kinda hard. Also, the support in the linux kernel is still young, for example there is not yet any really efficient way to detect peripherals (it's inferior to pci and usb detection since the driver report only to syslog what's plugged when the driver is included in the kernel, there is no /proc interface to read detection information). > Here's a link that talks about supporting firewire storage on Mandrake. > http://www.mandrakeforum.com/article.php?sid=1501&lang=en > I envision having multiple firewire cards with up to 63 hard drives > interfaced per card.
