I've asked our hardware team to buy/obtain a firewire adapter and
extension some time ago, in order to have preliminary
support/detection during install, but we still have nothing by
hands, so adding support is kinda hard.

Also, the support in the linux kernel is still young, for example
there is not yet any really efficient way to detect peripherals
(it's inferior to pci and usb detection since the driver report
only to syslog what's plugged when the driver is included in the
kernel, there is no /proc interface to read detection
information).
