i have the nvidia card
i should first unload the nvidia driver (suspend while x is running is 
not possible), then i can suspend with 'apm -s'
sorry, i don't know about pcmcia because i don't have any pcmcia device 
and i'm not running cooker or beta3 (no time riht now).
i'm using kernel 2.4.18-rc4 on lm 8.1
