Basically, here's what happened (as I understand it, so I could be
massively wrong).  Marcelo released 2.4.18-rc4.  Mandrake's developers
incorporate it into .17-21mdk (why the switch to .21mdk, btw?).  Marcelo
decides that 2.4.18 is ready and accidentally (I imagine) copies
2.4.18-rc3 instead of -rc4 to be the new 2.4.18.  Marcelo copies
2.4.18-rc4 over to 2.4.19-pre1.

So, for all intents and purposes, 2.4.17-21mdk is 2.4.19-pre1, plus any
patches Mandrake's developers have added.

I myself am going to try a kernel from the mjc tree... I want to see
what the fuss over pre-emption, the O(1) scheduler, et al is all
about...
