Basically, here's what happened (as I understand it, so I could be massively wrong). Marcelo released 2.4.18-rc4. Mandrake's developers incorporate it into .17-21mdk (why the switch to .21mdk, btw?). Marcelo decides that 2.4.18 is ready and accidentally (I imagine) copies 2.4.18-rc3 instead of -rc4 to be the new 2.4.18. Marcelo copies 2.4.18-rc4 over to 2.4.19-pre1. So, for all intents and purposes, 2.4.17-21mdk is 2.4.19-pre1, plus any patches Mandrake's developers have added. I myself am going to try a kernel from the mjc tree... I want to see what the fuss over pre-emption, the O(1) scheduler, et al is all about... -- Levi Ramsey [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] When it comes down to desperation, You make the best of your situation.
