I'm getting simmilar problems on my system. Since at least mandrake 8.1 if
the num lock is on it causes my system to send jiberish to the keyboard and
the arrow keys cease to function correctly. This has been been happening for
a long time. The fix is to shut off num lock.
Now for 8.2beta for the last few days my screen has been flashing eraticly
and the mouse ceases to function properly the windows stop updateing
themselves and the whole screen in general starts to look funny and hag up
severly. This is related somehow to the screen saver. When I shut the screen
saver off these problems go away. What is happening is that the screen saver
is trying to turn on all the time even when I'm using the keyboard and mouse.
This is what causes the scree nto flash eraticly and the mouse to cease to
functoin as the screen saver is trying to turn itself on and off.
