I'm not english pro, but isn't there a type there ? "plus a passel of specific libraries" Some additional things that get to my mind: - running a program from console is often helpful to understand what's wrong, as error output is accessible - error output from a programm started directly by the window manager (from a menu) is often found in .xsession-error - strace is also very helpful to track internal behaviour of a programm. Last lines often give advices on error cause. - when reporting problem related to window manager, always indicate your runlevel -- Guillaume Rousse <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> GPG key http://lis.snv.jussieu.fr/~rousse/gpgkey.html
