If it is a PS/2 version during the install select Logitech Mouseman+ and it will work. It is what I use to get my tm marble working with the middle button.
In XF86Config-4 you can put the following in the "InputDevice" Section Option "Protocol" "MouseManPlusPS/2" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" I think you select wheel mouse under USB during install to get it working there but I don't know the equivilant XF86Config settings.
