hmmm
I have been popping drives in and out all night. I
have discovered that I can swap modular ide-hd/floppy
or cdrw/floppy while the system is till up without
issues as long as I boot up with either ide-hd or
cdrw. Unfortunately I cannot swap ide-hd/cdrw.
Whichever it booted with is the only recognized.
