I totally agree, the I option is unvaluable to repair the system in a majority 
of sysinit failures, especially on servers. It replaces the rescue CD in lots 
of bad cases. Especially when you have installed a module which is not on the 
rescue CD because of different kernel levels. Don't suppress this option 
please, administrators need it.

As for triggering the Interactive mode, I simply let my finger on 'I' key as 
soon as I see the 'Press I ...' message and it works all times ;)
