I totally agree, the I option is unvaluable to repair the system in a majority of sysinit failures, especially on servers. It replaces the rescue CD in lots of bad cases. Especially when you have installed a module which is not on the rescue CD because of different kernel levels. Don't suppress this option please, administrators need it. As for triggering the Interactive mode, I simply let my finger on 'I' key as soon as I see the 'Press I ...' message and it works all times ;) Pascal > --- Warly <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > SI Reasoning <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes: > > > The latest rc.sysconfig no longer offers the > > > > choice to > > > > > hit i for interactive. > > > > > > initscripts-6.40.2-38mdk > > > > After investigation people thought that this feature > > is not really > > used and as a consequence is not quite useful in > > quiet mode > > > > -- > > Warly > > ===== > SI Reasoning > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > A requirement of creativity is that it contributes to change.
