hi,

I've been keeping up to date with cooker over the past three weeks or so
on two different machine and there is a problem I'm having that I cannot
figure out how to fix. I have an Athlon XP1700+, 256Mb ram, 3Dfx Voodoo
3 3000 video card (AGP) and everything works fine except for anything
that changes the video mode. X works for normal desktop kde stuff, but
if I ctrl-alt- + or - to change resolutions the entire X session with
die and I'll be back at KDM. Also, once this happens I'm unable to
switch to any other virtual terminal. If I do I get a frozen portion of
the KDM screen and the system will hard lock.

I've had this problem before, but I can't remember what fixed it. I do
have DRI enabled, and I've verified that I have the newest packages
installed.

The only other annoyance I have with 8.2 is an issue with rpmdrake: when
downloading packages the grpmi dialog does not update the fetching:
progress bar. Only by starting rpmdrake from a command line and
watching as it selects each package do I knwo it's doing anything. It
will update the current package on the dialog, but I think the dialog
should show the progress of the file download.

It used to... also I think that the little bouncing progress bar the
pops up when you update the package selection should also be more
informative, like showing the progress of the hdlist.cz file as it
downloads it. At 13+ megs, even on a cable modem it takes a few
minutes...

Just me .03 worth.

thanks,

Scott
