Hmm, no, I disagree. I've just now built extension modules for bzip2, curl, gmp, mcrypt, mhash and pspell. This required nothing but changing the name of the RPM package and changing the way buildext is called. And this was also consistent, so once you've figured one package out, all the others are easy. Basically, it required a little thinking and not just doing. But it's entirely possible that I've just chosen the easy ones. Don't know.
