There is an executable by the name "pcimodules" which hotplug runs to get the 
modules which are avilable. I have no idea what it does.

No its not carbus.. Yes, ideally hotplug should be called only when something 
is plugged in.. but somehow it is being called at every bootup and it screws 
everything up. Can anybody from Mandrake find a problem and release a fix 
please?
