We just did an install on the same setup about 2 weeks ago.

We made all partitions RAID 5 over 4 disks, using the 5th disk as a hot
spare.

It was a mission, and we managed to get our root filesystem on only 3
disks instead of 4.

So here are my requests for diskdrake:

1)Make it possible to add a hot spare. I had to do this by hand afterwards

2)Make a mode for setting up RAID disks, so that the partitioning can be
~ cloned across disks. For example, partition one disk, and then have a
"clone for RAID" button somewhere.

My current raidtab and the one created during install (raidtab.orig) are
attached.

We have a /boot on each disk, I just need to remember to dd from the one
currently in use to the rest ... If you put a swap on each disk, the
kernel will automatically use them all, essentially striped (which we
also did).

Btw, we managed to get 99GB for /home on this set ...
