Was going to answer that off list, but decided that since it was addressed to
me in a public forum, I'd answer it here.
Yeah, sorry to waste your time. I generally spend about 2 hours a night of MY
valuable time per night testing things in cooker, and reporting bugs and
contributing where I can. BEFORE posting to the list I checked out web site
for the driver, looked over the "how to", and did some digging to see if
there was anything related to this already posted somewhere.
I am running cooker, and do my best to actively contribute. I don't post
questions to the list because I'm too lazy to get out "Linux for Dummies" and
look it up. I am not asking how to get my kitchen floor cleaned, or how to
tune up my car. I'm asking if there is something special that has to be done
to set the parameters on a piece of supported hardware (USB to serial
converter) that does not appear to be behaving properly using the software
and drivers that as far as I can tell should properly configure the port.

Have been trying to figure out how to set the baud rate on a USB serial
port. The LG VX1 phones support 1xRTT - but they want the port configured for
230Kbps. Using things like the KDE front for dial up, etc, don't set the
rate correctly - or for that matter at all as far as I can see - on a USB
serial port. I don't know if this is because there is a bug in the driver or
the front end or what. Figuring MAYBE someone one the list had a little
more experience with using USB serial adapters, i thought I'd ask.
Doesn't matter.
