Yes, they should fix their sources. Last time I tried to compile with gcc2.96, there were too many errors. :-( I'd hope this changed in jdk1.4. Besides, this is not a simple matter of rebuilding, you also need to update the "bridges" in order to be compatible with the gcc3. Those bridges are what makes interoperability among C++ and Java objects for example, including the exception machinery. Yet, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't do that since they do support OOo with gcc3 for example... Bye, Gwenole.
