yup. i've done all that already. i believe i copy/pasted the script i'm
using if i need to destroy/recreate my /dev/hde1 (or /dev/hda1)
parititon and then re-copy the data back to it.

if you read my post, i'm doing something unique. other then that, the
boot/rescue cdrom works for all other general purposes. it just fails to
re-install the boot loader for the scenario that i'm giving it. no
biggy.
