kernel package does no more not exists for a while now, it has been replaced by
kernel-%{version}.%{release}.

A new tools for urpmi will come allowing dumping rpmdb (short version) along
with synthesis file in order for me to reproduce them easily.

But currently not written but perl-URPM allows such things.
