But, if it is not used frequently, is not "find /path -name pattern" a
more efficient use of the machine? It allows the search to start only
at a likely point, rather than rummaging through the entire filesystem
periodically. Though I suppose with current hardware capabilities,
folks worry less about such things than in the days of old.
