Well, maybe you should consider joining the Mandrake Club Volunteers, to try and
prevent the duplication of effort. A number of people here will know of the RPMs I
make available at http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake, specifically rebuilds from
cooker for previous stable releases.

The Club Volunteers was started due to people requesting updated RPMs om MF, Deno
has done the effort in organising the logistics, and a while back there was a story
on MandrakeClub for people to post their requests. We are getting organised now, a
lot of RPMs are ready, and the uploads have just started. RPMs will be available in
the Cooker mirrors (like unsupported) except for RPMs with restrictive licensing,
which may go to PLF if suitable, otherwise will stay on the club.

In this case then, there would be no need to change the vendor tag (unless Deno
wants us to change it to reflect that they are club-made).

What you might want to consider doing, if your only concern is conflicting with
release numbers from Mandrakesoft, is to partially decrement you release number,
such as if you were (say) rebuilding mozilla-1.0.0-7mdk on 8.2, you might want to
make it mozilla-1.0.0-6.9mdk.

Regardless, duplication of effort is evil, and we probably need someone in Club
Volunteers to build on ppc ;-).

Mail deno if you're interested. (And that applies to anyone on this list). There's
free club membership in it of course (since you need to be able to read the posts).

Buchan
