-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 It appears (from the existence of /etc/cron.weekly/slocate.cron) that the slocate database, in 9.0 beta 2, is updated weekly and at extremely low priority.
1. Am I mistaken in believing that, in 8.2, it was updated daily? 2. I suggest that a weekly update is far too infrequent (certainly at cooker time, but probably also for normal use). The trigger for all this was unexpectedly feeble results for a package I had installed a few days ago; redoing the command following a slocate -u from the command line gave what I was expecting.
