beta2 has one of the better installers I've seen actually.
If you're going to use beta2 though, I personally suggest grabbing a mirror
and creating the ISO's taht way though. The iso's that have been created and
are PD have quite a few problems (that have been fixed in the newer releases)

Some (note, I said SOME) drives don't like the fact that they're forced to
write > 700m (even with cdroms that are 700m). It's best that overburning is
NOT pushed, to be honest. Not everyone CAN, and not everyone will:P

It sounds like the problem I was having. My solution may/may not work for you,
but I'll offer it anyways:

re-download the sources (use fmirror or something), make your ISO's that way ,
if you've got a linux machine.

The reason I say that is because the new(er) ISOs are created at < 690m which
WILL fit under most any architecture. Unfortunately, this means a fourth cd
(though I haven't looked at it yet), but at least you've got the opportunity
to USE the cd's.

With beta software, generally you find that 5 days can be a bit, well, they
can provide a LOT of solutions to problems that just weren't realized before,
and this is one case where that's definitely true. The team behind Mandrake
is one of the best I've seen for that..
