I just went through a little bit of this.
1. Using "good" media, 700MB on WinXP enabled my laptop
win XP to make the CD's. Seems my old drive in desktop would
let me get away with crappy media...
2. Burning CD1, especially, faster than 4 speed is BAD, and I came to that
conclusion on my brand new plextor / cdrecord.
I was hoping the plextor could go faster than that.
I burned the other two CD's at 8x and they are both fine. CD1 won't boot
unless you go slow. I've only been through that once, so I cannot
say for sure way. Just seems like a good idea.
