Bottom line --- it's very difficult to be able to get to a windows
computer on the same subnet, graphically, from KDE. This is one reason
why many people never are able to use windows file sharing adequately.

I realize that this technique won't find anything out of the subnet, but
port scanning can be avoided by using Advanced Settings -> Send NetBIOS

The very simple default configuration mentioned above will enable it to
find at least all the computers in it's subnet / workgroup.

For a typical desktop user, who chose the standard security level, it
makes sense to AT LEAST have this listed in the services, even if it's
turned off.
