Yes, the Linux flash plugin is outdated and sucks.  I would suggest purchasing 
Crossover Plugin from codeweavers.com and installing the windows version of 
flash.  It runs much better than the Linux one does, and Crossover also lets 
you run Windows Media Player and other pesky windows-only browser plugins.
