Yes, but it isn't all that easy. I had a discussion with Thierry about a similar 
problem (only 1
of the 2 speaker outputs working by default). But it is annoying to check this kind of 
thing for each soundcard.
So I guess it will not be done before the release I guess:(

Well, no bass/treble hardly sounds like crap.

If I find the time I try to get a bit more learned in alsa stuff, so perhaps for the 
next release it will be much improved.
There are a lots of features in alsa, once you know how to tweak it.
