Hello,

Just a couple of notes on the .rpmnew resolver in rpmdrake recently.
Excellent idea! I like it! But can I suggest a couple of
enhancements?

First of all, the colored diff in the bottom box, shows you the patch
to make your current file equal to the .rpmnew file. The reverse is
probably much more useful. It would reflect "what changes do I need
to make to the .rpmnew to include my config edits?".

Also, a "side-by-side" diff like gtkdiff or even "vim -d" (vimdiff) is
much more illustrative.

It would also be nice to be able to edit either of the .rpmnew file
and/or the existing file before saying "Remove .rpmnew" or "Use
.rpmnew as main file". Maybe "gvim -d" should be the tool that is
brought up to view/edit the differences. If you keep the "three
boxes" mode and make the top two text boxes editable you will need to
support some kind of "cut'n'paste" between the two boxes. Maybe
leveraging vim is the better solution afterall.
